July 24th, Saturday
The York Naked Maize Maze was fun as usual with seven of us turning up to get lost in the maze - personally I think they made it easier just for us this year. About 150 people altogether found their way round so it was a turnout for what is becoming a regular Bares event (and BN, I suppose - actually a good presence from them this year).
July 31st, Saturday
Rochdale a few more than usual turned up for our first visit in over a year to Rochdale and several new faces along to boot! They managed to contain themselves and took pity on us with the quiz this year. I was right and once again lost at the table football. Lovely food and thanks all round.
September 4th, Saturday
This is it! Our 10th Anniversy bash We have planned something a bit different for this. In the best traditions it will be a fancy undress, this time a masked ball with a cruise ship theme......and maybe a mystery to solve??? The other difference is that we are asking everyone who wants to come to share in the cost of the food (a fiver a head) as we lay on a (hopefully) sumptuous repast and exceed all previous records for attendance. We are hoping that all our past and present Bares friends will turn out for this...so let's hope for calm seas and fair weather!

November 6th, Saturday
Our annual Halloween Party to be held as always at Great Harwood. Fancy undress obligatory; spiders, dragons, cobwebs, fangs, witches hats, anything but clothes! I wonder if the body paints will come out again?
December 4th, Saturday
Back to our friends at Tarleton for our traditional Christmas party with plenty of wine, food and laughs all round...have we got to try eating that chocolate with a knife and fork again?
December 31st/January 1st 2011, Friday
Nude Years Eve! Another Bares tradition with a pot luck supper - bring enough for two people then chuck it in for everyone to have a taster. The formula one cars will have their batteries recharged and engines tuned up for our Grand Prix - I am going to find a way to nobble Chris this year, he keeps winning! All non-participating drivers are required to act as marshalls to ensure cheating is up to the correct standard. Music and dancing till late - the neighbours have been warned already.
